Bob Hawk brings a wealth of expertise and contacts to his role as Venture Partner at DCM, and provides guidance and support for many of the firm’s portfolio companies. He has had various CEO-level leadership positions at major telecommunications companies and has guided numerous private companies through financings and initial public offerings.

Prior to joining DCM, Bob was President and CEO of U.S. West Multimedia Communications, Inc. where he was responsible for the MediaOne cable business and the Time Warner partnership until he retired in 1997. From 1986 until 1995, he was President of the Carrier Division of U.S. West Communications, Inc. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Planning for CXC Corporation, a high-technology start-up and before that was Director, Advanced Systems Development for ATT/American Bell.

During 1997-2002, Bob served as a Special Limited Partner of Crosspoint Venture Partners. During that time, he served on the boards or advisory boards of twenty companies that went public. Bob currently serves as a director of Covad Communications (Nasdaq) and Centillium Communications (Nasdaq) and several private high-technology companies.
